Driver ticketed after 4-year-old boy hit by van at O'Hare

CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - A 4-year-old boy was hit by a van Saturday afternoon at O’Hare International Airport.
About 2 p.m., he and his father were in a crosswalk on the lower level of Terminal 1 when the person driving the van didn’t see the boy while making a turn, and the vehicle struck him, according to Chicago Police.
The boy was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, police said.
The driver was ticketed for failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.
