FOX 5 News (WNYW) -- It became a violent scene at a Manhattan restaurant after an employee reportedly tried to quit in the middle of her shift.
It happened Wednesday afternoon at the Panera Bread on Park Ave. and 23rd St. in Gramercy.
Video that was captured on a phone and uploaded to social media reportedly shows the female employee yelling at her manager.
She throws a punch and he fires back, knocking her to the ground.
Police say the woman provoked the manager and that his swings were defensive.
A spokeswoman for the chain says both employees have been fired. Neither has been charged.
