CTA Green Line trains will skip five stations this weekend during construction on the Green Line West Track Renewal Project.

Green Line trains will only run between Cottage Grove-Ashland/63rd and Laramie beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and ending at 4 a.m. Monday, according to a statement from the CTA.

During that time, trains will not stop at the Central, Austin, Ridgeland, Oak Park or Harlem/Lake stations, according to the transit agency. Free shuttle buses will serve the affected stations.

Travelers should allow extra travel time on the Green Line over the weekend.

Similar construction is scheduled over four additional weekends for work on the Green Line West Track Renewal Project, which will replace rails and ties and implement other track improvements to provide smoother, more reliable rides and prevent slow zones from developing, according to the CTA. It is expected to be completed in June.
