$650K Illinois Lottery jackpot ticket sold in downtown Chicago

A $650,000 jackpot-winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket was sold in downtown Chicago last week.

The backstory:

The Lucky Day Lotto ticket was sold for last Thursday's midday drawing at Headline Newsstand located in the lobby of 2 N. LaSalle St., in the Loop.

The ticket matched all five numbers to win the $650,000 prize. The winning numbers were 13-15-19-33-42.

"The winner actually chose her numbers," Headline Newsstand employee Khadija Jiwani told the Illinois Lottery. "She wrote the numbers down on a piece of paper and handed it to me, asking me to purchase her Lucky Day Lotto ticket with those exact numbers. And what do you know? She won the $650,000 jackpot! It’s incredible to see it happen right before your eyes."

Headline Newsstand will receive $6,500 for selling the winning ticket.

This month, over 807,000 winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets were sold across the state, netting Illinois Lottery players more than $5.4 million.

The Illinois Lottery advises winners to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a secure place until ready to claim. Tickets can be purchased in-store, online, or through the Illinois Lottery app. For more information, visit IllinoisLottery.com.
