Local races heat up before midterm

With just one day left before the election the candidates made the rounds this weekend, including those at the top of the ticket, Governor Bruce Rauner and JB Pritzker.

Thousands attended a Get Out the Vote rally Sunday night for the Illinois democrats and supporting them was former President Obama.

While Governor Rauner rubbed shoulders with fellow republican candidates and constituents in St. Charles.

Voters this year are getting a head start at the polls, with many voting sites experiencing long lines this weekend. The Illinois State Board of Elections reports this year's early voting numbers have already surpassed the early votes of the 2014 midterm election.

Governor Rauner appears to be trailing Pritzker in many polls by double digits.
