Lyft's shared ride option is back in Chicago

People in Chicago can now share ride costs on Lyft if the car is going in the same direction.

CHICAGO - Riders can share a Lyft with someone else starting Monday in Chicago, Philadelphia and Denver.

Customers can book the option that allows multiple passengers to split a car going in the same direction.

All riders are required to wear masks, Lyft said.

The company plans to expand to more cities in the coming months.
