Mail, mobile services likely impacted by Pope

Traffic and transit disruptions and street closures are all anticipated in New York City during Pope Francis' visit. Now, there are concerns mail and delivery services along with mobile services will also be impacted. Fed Ex is warning its customers that they may experience some delays while the pope is in town.

His Holiness begins the NYC leg of his trip to the United States on Thursday.

Other concerns include mail delivery by the United States Postal Service.  Workers have moved collection boxes along the papal route.

Something else to consider, is digital gridlock. It will be possible especially in and around Central Park while the pope and his motorcade make their way through the area on Friday afternoon.

Technology experts say with thousands of people sharing video at the same time, mobile service will likely drop.

Mobile carriers are preparing for the demand by rolling in cellular towers on wheels.
