About 10:10 p.m., the 28-year-old was driving west on Interstate 290 near Cicero Avenue when someone inside a red Nissan fired shots, striking him twice in the left leg, according to Illinois State Police and Chicago Fire Media Affairs.

Troopers found the man shot near the intersection of Flournoy Street and Lockwood Avenue, state police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, authorities said.

Westbound traffic on I-290 was shut down until 1:41 a.m., state police said.
