Man wanted for fatal shooting near Lockport

LOCKPORT TWP. (STMW) - Authorities are searching for a man suspected of the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man during a drug deal Wednesday night near southwest suburban Lockport.

A first-degree murder warrant was issued Thursday for 19-year-old Tariq J. Pinnick for the shooting that happened about 11:15 p.m. in the 200 block of Barry Avenue in unincorporated Lockport Township, according to the Will County sheriff’s office.

Deputies responding to a call of shots fired found Dylan Somma unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest in the front yard of a home, sheriff’s police said.

Somma was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives think Somma, a Romeoville resident, was in the area to buy drugs when he got into a fight with Pinnick, who shot him once in the chest, police said.

Pinnick’s home is on Riverview Avenue, about a block north of the scene of the shooting, police said.
