Outbound Eisenhower reopens after crashes near Jane Byrne Interchange

The outbound lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway reopened more than three hours after multiple crashes shut them down during Monday’s morning commute.

Icy road conditions led to numerous collisions on outbound I-290 near the Jane Byrne Interchange and the lanes were closed about 6 a.m, state police said. Some minor injuries were reported, but it was not immediately clear how many people were hurt.

All lanes were reopened by about 9:30 a.m., according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
