Paralyzed Dog Gets New Wheelchair
A metro Atlanta dog, paralyzed from the waist down, is getting a new lease on life!
“Bookie,” a 3-year-old beagle mix, was hit by a car several years ago and gets around by dragging his back legs. He's active, healthy and happy, but gets sores from scooting around.
Last month, LifeLine Animal Project started caring for him when his owners were evicted from their home. Volunteers and staff at LifeLine fell in love with him and took it upon themselves to purchase a wheelchair for the dog.
On Christmas eve, Bookie was reunited with his owners after they were able to find a new place to live. The rescue shelter sent his family home with food and told them to return on January 15 for a “surprise.” Little did they know, their precious pooch would be receiving a new ride.
