Homicide investigation underway after 2 women found shot to death inside Park Forest home; victims identified

PARK FOREST, Ill. - Two women were fatally shot inside a Park Forest home Thursday night, authorities said.

Police responded to a report of a gunshot victim at a residence in the 300 block of Miami Street around 6:08 p.m. Upon arrival, officers forced entry into the home and found two unresponsive women along with two unharmed children.

The victims, identified as Lillian Brown, 51, and Sabrina McCain, 30, had apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The children were taken to area hospitals as a precaution.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident, noting that the victims and the suspect were acquainted.

The investigation remains ongoing.
