(FoxNews.com) - Almost two years after signing with the Green Bay Packers and departing the Windy City, linebacker Julius Peppers is letting go of his modernist home in Highland Park near Chicago. The eight-time Pro Bowler has put the property on the market for $2.5 million.

In the 8,000-square-foot home, buyers could practice their own tackling techniques in the enormous great room with cherry wood flooring, dark accents, and architectural curves. They could also turn one of the five bedrooms -- or nine additional rooms -- into a private exercise suite.

The dining room features an ornately carved accent wall, which stands out in contrast among the room's dark walls and dark flooring. The kitchen's swooping textured walls also add a modernist flair against the black countertops.

Peppers, an eight-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro, spent three seasons with the Chicago Bears after starring for years on defense for the Carolina Panthers. Now plying his trade on the frozen tundra of Lambeau, the menacing defender made NFL history in 2014 by becoming the first player to reach the career milestones of 100 sacks and 10 interceptions.
