Police dog's scent tracking helps locate missing 9-year-old girl
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (FOX 11) - A K9 cop for the Los Angeles Police Department used her scent-tracking skills to help locate a missing 9-year-old girl.
The department posted on its Twitter account a photo of Molly, a bloodhound that used her incredible scent tracking to help rescue the girl.
"I used my scent tracking skills to find her and she’s back home now. I hope your day at work was as rewarding as mine," the tweet said.
One Twitter user joked Molly should get a "2 bone a week raise" for the job well done.
The bloodhound is often called "a nose with a dog attached" thanks to their powerful sense of smell. According to the American Kennel Club, the breed has played a major role in law enforcement for at least a century and a half.
