Police: Woman raped in Wicker Park alley

Chicago police are investigating a sexual assault that happened last weekend in the Wicker Park neighborhood.

The victim, a 24-year-old woman, told police she was forced into an alley near the Wicker Park Fest and then sexually assaulted.

She said it happened around 7:30pm Saturday night in the 1400 block of North Milwaukee.

The victim said she was approached by a man with a knife and he took her into the alley near Milwaukee and Wolcott, where a second man was waiting and she was sexually assaulted.

Just last week - Chicago Police warned Wicker Park residents about an uptick in armed cell phone robberies.
In response – police increased patrols in the area, but just two days later is when the sexual assault occurred.

After the attack police say the victim took herself to Saint Anthony's hospital and reported the crime. The victim is in good condition.

No one is in custody for this crime.
