South Lawndale fatal shooting: Man struck in head by gunfire

CHICAGO - A 24-year-old man was gunned down Saturday on Chicago's West Side.

Around 4:42 p.m., police say the male victim was near the sidewalk in the 3400 block of W. 24th St. when he was struck in the head by gunfire.

He was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Nobody was reported in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
