Southwest flight returns safely to Midway after striking bird

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - A Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Chicago landed safely back at Midway Airport after striking a bird Thursday morning.

The captain of Southwest Airlines Flight 105 returned to Midway and landed safely after a “bird strike,” according to a statement from Southwest Airlines.

All 164 passengers and six crew members are safe, according to the statement.

They will be flown to McCarran International Airport on another plane and arrive in Las Vegas about three hours late.
