What happened

In October 2021, Brown allegedly trafficked 2,500 grams (or five and a half pounds) of cannabis that he intended to deliver into Illinois, prosecutors said.

He is also accused of storing more than 5,000 grams (about 11 pounds) of cannabis, over 900 grams (roughly two pounds) of fentanyl, and two loaded handguns at a storage facility in Addison.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) conducted the investigation before referring the case to the Illinois Attorney General's office.

"Drug and gun trafficking lead to violent crime that has a devastating effect on communities throughout Illinois," Attorney General Kwame Raoul said. "The collaboration between my office and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is essential to our work to hold perpetrators accountable and make our neighborhoods safer."
