Three hurt after SUV collides with Chicago Police vehicle on West Side

Three people were injured Sunday evening when an SUV ran a stop sign and collided with a Chicago police vehicle on the West Side, authorities said.

The crash happened just before 6 p.m. Sunday in the 3900 block of W. Gladys. 

A Buick SUV was traveling westbound on Gladys when the driver disobeyed a stop sign and struck a marked Chicago police vehicle heading northbound on Pulaski Road, authorities said.

The SUV's driver, a 31-year-old woman, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and is in good condition, police said.

The driver and passenger in the police vehicle were taken to Stroger Hospital with minor injuries and are also in good condition.

Citations are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
