The toddler who was mistakenly run over by a neighbor backing out of their driveway earlier this week has died, according to the little girl's parents.

Danielle Culbertson's daughter, Eliana, was outside with her mom when she was run over just before 9 a.m. Wednesday. The 20-month-old was playing as her mom was putting air in a flat tire.

The girl wandered two houses down, walking along the sidewalk where a neighbor driving a black Chevy Equinox had been backing out of her driveway.

Eliana was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. She had been fighting for her life since, and doctors told the family Thursday that the girl had irreversible brain damage.

Danielle had previously told us that she has no animosity toward the neighbor.

"It could happen to anyone," she said. "The bottom line is I don't blame my neighbor for it. I know it was an accident."

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

Meanwhile, the family has set up a donation page to help with the medical bills for Eliana. If you'd like to make a donation, you can do so via their GoFundMe account here.
