Triathlete on mission to save children's eyesight

CHICGAO (FOX 32 News) - Beth and Dave White are on a mission to raise awareness and funding to develop new therapies to help save their children's sight and millions of other kids around the world.

Beth, a triathlete who is also blind, came from Australia to compete in the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final and is hoping to get the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics.

Beth has a retinal disease that caused her to lose her eyesight when she was a young adult.

Beth and her husband Dave have three children.

The kids were tested from the time they were six months old to make sure they were not affected.

But in 2012, they got the devastating news all three had early signs of their mother's disease.

Beth joined FOX 32 News at Noon to talk about her mission.
