Two questioned after 8-hour standoff in Gresham
CHICAGO (SUN TIMES MEDIA WIRE) - Two people are being questioned after an eight-hour standoff with authorities early Monday in the South Side Gresham neighborhood.
SWAT officers responded about 2:30 a.m. to an apartment in the 7600 block of South Stewart, where a man barricaded inside was threatening officers if they approached, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
It was not immediately known whether the suspect was armed, Gaines said.
The situation was resolved at 10:26 a.m. A man and woman were taken in for questioning, police said. The situation was possibly domestic-related.
