UPS driver robbed of packages in Chatham

A UPS delivery driver was robbed of his packages Wednesday night in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

About 8:56 p.m., the driver was in the 8500 block of South Prairie when he was approached by two men, Chicago Police said. They showed a gun and took multiple packages, personal items and money from the driver.

The men also removed several undelivered packages from the truck before running away in an unknown direction, police said. The driver was not injured.

The first offender is described as a 23- to 27-year-old black man with medium complexion, standing between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 and weighing between 140-150 pounds, police said. The second offender is described as a 23- to 27-year-old black man with medium complexion, standing between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11 and weighing between 160-170 pounds.
