Wadsworth man charged in Lake County drug investigation

A north suburban Wadsworth man was charged following a month-long drug investigation in Lake County.

Zachary S. Moore, 24, of the 2500 block of North Augusta Drive in Wadsworth was charged with felony counts of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff’s office. Moore was additionally charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Gang and Drug Task Force, Department of Homeland Security and DEA recovered more than 60 grams of heroin during the execution of a search warrant at Moore’s home Thursday, according to the statement. More than $10,000 in cash was also seized.

Moore’s bail was set at $200,000 and he was held in the Lake County Jail, according to authorities.

His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 15.
