Wheeling man charged with kidnapping, domestic battery in Palatine

PALATINE, Ill. - A Wheeling man is facing multiple felony charges after an alleged domestic violence incident in Palatine earlier this week.

Boris Zhuravlev, 39, has been charged with kidnapping, aggravated domestic battery, unlawful restraint, and aggravated domestic battery with prior convictions, according to Palatine police.

The charges stem from an incident on the morning of Dec. 8 in the 1200 block of Prairie Brook Drive.

The victim, who was in a dating relationship with Zhuravlev, sustained serious injuries during the altercation. Police also uncovered a history of prior domestic violence incidents involving Zhuravlev.

Zhuravlev was arrested on Dec. 11. He appeared in court for a detention hearing the next day and remains in custody until his next scheduled court appearance on Jan. 10, 2025.
