SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (STMW) - If you bought a lottery ticket in northwest suburban Schaumburg around this time last year, now would be a good time to dig it up.
A winning New Year’s Raffle ticket worth $100,000 was sold on New Years Eve in 2014 at Bucky’s Express, 1530 W. Schaumburg Road, according to a statement from the Illinois Lottery.
The winning number — 043587 — will expire at midnight if it goes unclaimed. Players have a year from the original drawing date to step forward for prizes.
Lottery officials urge winners to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the lottery’s five prize centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights.
