Woman, 60, shot, killed 57-year-old man on Chicago’s South Side, police say

A 60-year-old woman allegedly shot and killed a 57-year-old man inside a home on Chicago’s South Side early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting happened in the 8500 block of South Parnell Avenue in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

What we know:

Officers responded to the shooting around 3:15 a.m. The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.

The woman was still on the scene at the time and was arrested.

Police recovered a weapon.

Area detectives are investigating the case.

What we don't know:

It was unclear exactly what led to the shooting or what if any, charges would be filed. Police did not identify the alleged shooter or the victim.
