Woman shot during fight in South Shore apartment

CHICAGO - A woman was shot Sunday in South Shore.

The 29-year-old was in an apartment about 12:10 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Merrill Avenue when she got into a fight with a male who pulled out a gun and fired shots at her, Chicago police said.

The woman suffered a gunshot wound to her side and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, police said.

Area One detectives are investigating.
