Cutler sets Bears record with 138th touchdown pass
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler broke the franchise record for touchdown passes when he found Martellus Bennett for a 1-yard score at San Diego.
Cutler had been tied with Hall of Famer Sid Luckman with 137 with the Bears. Cutler began his career with the Broncos.
The record-setting pass came at the end of a seven-play, 80-yard drive in the second quarter and pulled the Bears to 13-7 on Monday night.
Cutler added another TD pass in the fourth quarter of Chicago's 22-19 victory.
Luckman threw his final touchdown pass as a member of the Bears on Sept. 17, 1950.
