Sonya Morris scores career-high 30, No. 11 DePaul women win 85-69

Sonya Morris scored a career-high 30 points and No. 11 DePaul remained undefeated in the Big East with an 85-69 win over Villanova on Friday night.

Morris was 12-of-23 shooting, making 5 of 12 from the arc, and had five assists and five steals for the Blue Demons (18-2, 8-0), who won their ninth straight game.

Lexi Held added 21 points with three 3-pointers while Deja Church scored 12 points and Chante Stonewall 10. Kelly Campbell grabbed 11 rebounds and dished eight assists.

Mary Gedaka scored 20 points and Madison Siegrist 19 with Bridget Herlihy adding 14 for the Wildcats (11-8, 5-3), who had won five of their previous six games.

Villanova had 17 turnovers that DePaul turned into 16 points. The Blue Demons were just a point shy of matching their scoring average of 86, which ranked third nationally coming into Friday's game.

Villanova led once, in the first minute of the game, with DePaul going up by double figures for good within the opening minute of the second half.
