Chicago weather: Two rounds of rain expected today, highs near 50 degrees

Rain is expected off and on throughout the day, with two main rounds of precipitation

The first wave will arrive late this morning and continue into the afternoon, while the second will move in tonight. Highs will hover around 50 degrees.

Tomorrow will stay dry but mostly cloudy. Despite the cloud cover, temperatures will climb into the mid-50s. A weather system passing just south of the region at night could bring some light rain, especially east of Interstate 57.

Sunday will remain mild, with highs near 50 degrees and a chance of occasional sunshine.

Looking ahead to Monday, temperatures will dip slightly, reaching the mid-40s, with a chance of showers developing at night. New Year’s Eve is currently forecast to be dry, with highs in the lower 40s.
