Chicago weather: Another round of snow, freezing drizzle possible this weekend

The snow is slow to move out of the Chicagoland area this evening and roadways may remain snowy and slick through the evening commute.

Snow will taper off this evening and we'll be left with just flurries tonight. Lows are expected to drop to around 20 degrees by early Saturday morning.

The weekend will be dry on Saturday, and then another round of wintry precipitation is expected on Sunday.

Tomorrow will be partly sunny with highs in the upper 20s to near 30 degrees. Another storm system will pass near Chicagoland on Sunday, bringing the threat of snow showers and possibly freezing drizzle. Highs will be in the lower 30s.

Following our Sunday system, much colder air will wrap in behind it. Temperatures are expected to drop from the 20s Monday morning to the teens during the day.

Skies will be mostly cloudy and then temperatures will tumble into the single digits Monday night.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be very cold with lows in the single digits and highs only in the teens. Skies will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy.

Signs are pointing towards warmer days late next week. Temperatures should rebound into the lower 30s on Thursday, and then possibly into the upper 30s by Friday.
