Chicago weather: Warm temps, several rain chances this week

Chicago on Monday was basking in the glow of mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the pleasant 60s. Tonight, the city can look forward to mild temperatures in the 50s.

However, there's a change in the weather coming up. South-southwesterly winds will pick up during the night and continue through Tuesday, with gusts reaching as high as 35-40mph. So, if you have outdoor plans for Tuesday, be prepared for a windy day.

Tuesday will kick off with sunshine, but as the day unfolds, you can expect increasing cloud cover. By the evening, showers are in the forecast, and this rainy pattern is expected to continue on and off throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend.

The silver lining in this rainy forecast is that despite the showers, temperatures are set to remain pleasant, with highs in the 60s and 70s during the workweek. The real cool-down arrives over the weekend, with expected highs in the 50s.

Looking ahead to Halloween, it's shaping up to be quite chilly, with highs forecasted in the 40s. So, if you're planning any outdoor activities, be sure to bundle up.
