Keeping yourself safe from cyber attacks
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - The way you log online may be putting your cyber security at risk.
Last week the Wall Street Journal released a study that found that many common Wi-Fi routers are vulnerable to attacks that could lead to online spying and bank account takeovers.
Cyrus Walker, CEO of Data Defenders, joined Good Day Chicago to discuss how serious these findings are when it comes to our online safety.
Cyrus also has a few security tips for consumers:
- Use a password manager;
- Limit your use of Wi-Fi;
- Keep all of your devices up to date and install antivirus;
- Always choose two-factor authentication for online accounts, if offered;
- Don't do online banking from the all-purpose home PC;
- Use an ad-blocker when you surf the web
