$16M lottery ticket sold in Glen Ellyn

SUN-TIMES MEDIA WIRE - An unclaimed lottery ticket worth more than $16 million was sold in west suburban Glen Ellyn this week.
A ticket sold at the 7-Eleven at 3S035 Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn was a $16,750,000 winner that matched all six numbers – 16-24-28-33-48-50 – in Thursday night’s drawing, according to a statement from the Illinois Lottery.
Lottery officials said the winner should sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they can bring it to one of the lottery’s five prize centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have a year from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
The store will receive a bonus of $167,500, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.
