A 17-year-old boy was struck and killed by a Metra Electric District train Tuesday morning on the Far South Side.

The pedestrian was struck by a train near the Kensington station at 115th and Front streets about 8:30 a.m., according to Metra and fire officials.

Deiz A. Allison, Jr., 17, was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 9:38 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in the 18700 block of John Avenue in Country Club Hills.

An autopsy Wednesday found he died of blunt force head injuries and his death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.

All train movement on the Metra Electric District was temporarily halted, but normal service resumed just before 11 a.m., according to the transit agency.
