2 charged with stealing drones from Deer Park Apple store

DEER PARK (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Two people have been charged with stealing drones from an Apple store in north suburban Deer Park.
Jeri E. Duncan, 36, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was charged with two felony counts of theft-possession of stolen property, one felony count of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a statement from Lake County sheriff’s office. Gregory J. Danci, 50, of Las Vegas, Nevada, was charged with two felony counts of theft-possession of stolen property and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 3:06 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a call of two suspicious people at the Deer Park Apple store at 20530 N. Rand Rd., the sheriff’s office said. Apple Loss Prevention told them that the two suspects matched the description of two people who had previously stolen merchandise from the Schaumburg and Oak Brook Apple stores.
The deputies found Duncan and Danci in a vehicle along with two stolen Apple drones, the sheriff’s office said. Duncan was also found to be in possession of heroin.
Authorities were later informed that the two had been involved in other Apple store thefts across the United States, the sheriff’s office said.
Duncan is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $10,000 bond, the sheriff’s office said. Her next court date is Aug. 24.
Ganci is also being held at the Lake County Jail on a $75,000 bond, the sheriff’s office said. His next court date is Aug. 19.
