2 CPD officers save fellow cop after heart attack
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Two Chicago Police officers saved the life of another officer who had a heart attack Saturday night in the 11th District Police station.
At 6:30 p.m., a 59-year-old 11th District officer suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness, police said in a statement.
Officers Mulligan and Parks immediately went to the officer’s aid by performing CPR and using an Automated External Defibrillator. The officer then regained consciousness, police said.
The 17-year veteran officer was taken to an area hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.
Officers Mulligan and Parks have less than two years of service with the department, police said.
