2 men injured in shooting on Chinatown Feeder ramp

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) - Two people were shot Monday night on the Chinatown Feeder ramp on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 11:55 p.m. on the ramp to the outbound lanes of the Stevenson Expressway (I-55), just south of Cermak, according to Illinois State Police.

Two men were shot and took themselves to Mercy Hospital, according to ISP. They told police they were driving when black Jeep pulled up along the driver’s side and
fired several shots at the vehicle.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the back of neck, and a 21-year-old man was shot three times in the back and once in the arm, ISP said. Both were transferred Stroger Hospital, where their conditions were stabilized.

A third person in the vehicle was not injured.

All lanes of the feeder ramp were closed for investigation until 3:15 a.m., police said.
