Man, 30, shot and killed on Chicago’s West Side

A 30-year-old man was shot and killed in the Homan Square neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side early Saturday morning.

The man was on the sidewalk in the 1100 block of South St. Louis Avenue a little after 4 a.m. when he was shot in the chest and back, Chicago police said.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he died.

Area detectives are investigating. Police did not say whether anyone was in custody in connection with the shooting.
