The Lincoln Park Zoo is hosting the Adults Night Out event Thursday night, where the Center for Biological Diversity will hand out hundreds of condoms to attendees.

The giveaway is themed to draw attention to the impact human population growth can have on both wildlife and the environment.

The nationwide program is called Pillow Talk and distributes condoms at zoos, museums and science centers.

“More conscious family planning can be an effort to help wildlife,” said Sarah Baillie, a population and sustainability intern at the center - according to the Chicago Tribune. More people means a greater strain on natural resources and the potential destruction of animals’ habitats.

The condoms handed out feature images of species that are endangered as well as several catchy slogans such as “Wrap with care … save the polar bear”.

The Pillow Talk program has stops scheduled this year in Austin, Texas, Portland, Oregon, and Anchorage, Alaska.

The adult only event is from 6:30pm-10pm and tickets information can be found on their website.
