Chicago police: 16-year-old boy carjacked man at gunpoint on South Side
CHICAGO - A 16-year-old boy was arrested this week in connection to an armed carjacking that occurred on Chicago's South Side last month.
What we know:
The teen was charged with one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a weapon.
The charge stems from an incident that occurred on Dec. 8. 2024, when the teen, along with others, carjacked a 42-year-old man at gunpoint in the 7600 block of South State Street.
The Citywide Vehicular Hijacking Team arrested the juvenile on Wednesday in the 1100 block of South Hamilton Avenue.
He was charged accordingly.
What we don't know:
At this time, the Chicago Police Department has not released any additional information about the other individuals involved in this crime.
The teen's identity has also not been released because he was charged in juvenile court.
