Chicago police arrested 16-year-old boy less than two hours after armed carjacking
CHICAGO - A 16-year-old boy was arrested in connection to a carjacking that occurred Monday on Chicago's Southwest Side.
What we know:
The teen is charged with one felony count of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm.
The charge relates to an incident that occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of West 77th Place, where the teen and others allegedly carjacked a 40-year-old man at gunpoint.
Less than two hours later, police arrested the teen in the 5600 block of South Monitor Avenue and charged him.
What we don't know:
It is unclear whether any other individuals involved in the carjacking have been arrested. The teen’s name has not been released because he is being charged as a juvenile.
