Stabbing on Chicago’s South Side leaves 2 people seriously hurt

Two people were stabbed and seriously wounded on the city’s South Side Saturday night.

The incident happened in the Woodlawn neighborhood, Chicago police said.

What we know:

Officers were called to the 6600 block of South Greenwood Avenue for the report of a person who was stabbed. They found a 46-year-old woman with several cuts about her body outside of an apartment.

She told officers her brother and the offender were still inside the apartment.

Officers went inside and found a 41-year-old man who had also been stabbed several times. The offender was arrested.

Both victims were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

The offender also had a cut to his hand and was treated at the scene.

Area detectives are investigating the stabbing.

What we don't know:

Police did not identify the suspected stabber. Charges are pending.
