ComEd adds crews to prepare for weather-related issues

CHICAGO (AP) — ComEd says it's adding staff and preparing equipment to get ready for heavy rain and wind gusts in northern Illinois.

The utility says the weather predicted for Wednesday evening could lead to power outages. ComEd executive vice president Terence Donnelly says the utility understands that outages are inconvenient especially during the holidays.

Customers can call or text if they experience a power outage. Text OUT to 26633 (COMED) to report an outage and get information.

ComEd is also on Twitter and Facebook. And the utility has a mobile app for smart phones that also give customers another way to report outages.
