Cook County officials call for more menopause research funding

CHICAGO - A Cook County commissioner wants more funding from the federal government into research on menopause.

Commissioner Monica Gordon put forward the resolution.

Data shows that in the United States the number of women entering this phase is approximately two million per year.

Gordon said more research can help save lives in the future.

Symptoms for menopause in women can vary with which ones show up and the severity.
