Cops: Shot fired at police in University Village

A person was arrested early Thursday after allegedly firing a gun at Chicago Police officers in the University Village neighborhood.

Monroe District officers were investigating reports of a person with a gun in the 800 block of South Miller about 2 a.m. when the person fired a shot at officers, according to police. No one was struck by gunfire.

The person has been detained and a weapon was recovered, police said.

Further details were not immediately available as Area Central detectives continued to investigate.
