CPD mourns the loss of K-9 officer Vito

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Chicago Police are mourning the death of a K-9 officer.

Vito died Tuesday night.

Police say he was sick, and underwent emergency surgery but he did not make it.

The department is offering condolences to Vito's partner, Officer David Garza.

"Vito will be sorely missed by Officer Garza and the CPD Family," a tweet from the official police department Twitter account read.
