Gliniewicz accounts will remain frozen until ruling

FOX LAKE, Ill. (AP) -- Bank accounts will remain frozen that belong to the widow of a northern Illinois police officer who authorities say killed himself after years of embezzling from a police youth program.
However, The (Waukegan) News Sun reports that court records show a motion earlier this week freed up about $4,000 for Melodie Gliniewicz. A Lake County judge on Friday told attorneys not to discuss the case outside of court. The accounts will remains frozen at least until a Dec. 7 judge's ruling.
Authorities say late Fox Lake Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz staged his suicide to look like a homicide because he feared the embezzlement was about to be exposed.
Melodie Gliniewicz's attorneys argue prosecutors wrongly froze six accounts and two credit cards on Nov. 6.
