Great Scott! It's 'Back to the Future' Day!

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) - Get your hoverboards ready, "Back to the Future" day has arrived!

Fans of the 1980s films know that October 21, 2015 is the day Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to in the future.

While flying cars, like the ones seen in the films aren't around yet, some iconic memorabilia from the movies are being unveiled in anticipation of the big day. A Jaws 19 trailer is being released, and Nintendo is coming out with a game called "Wild Gunman."

If you're lucky enough to be in New York City for "Back to the Future Day," the ridesharing service Lyft will be offering free DeLorean rides! From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. customers in New York City can shift into “McFly Mode” and be picked up for a free 15-minute ride in the iconic vehicle. The promotion is being co-sponsored by Verizon, according to a report from the Washington Post.

And remember, the movies predicted 2015 to be the year the Chicago Cubs win the World Series. Let's hope the North Side boys can get it done in Game 4 Wednesday night to stay alive in the series!
